Multiplication facts practice for home
Good multiplication facts practice is short, mixed and focused. Short because attention fades after a few minutes. Mixed because facts in order (2, 4, 6, 8...) can be answered by counting on, which hides gaps. Focused because a child who already knows the 2s and 5s gets little from practicing them again.
Below is a mixed set you can print or read aloud. It covers facts from every row up to 10 × 10.
Turning a miss into a fact
- If your child misses 8 × 7 = 56, show a strategy (double 7 three times: 14, 28, 56), then come back to it later in the same session and again the next day.
- If your child answers 4 × 6 = 24 correctly but slowly, it needs a few quick repeats, not reteaching.
